2025 Honda Civic Hatchback Offers 232 lb.-ft Torque, 4.8 L/100km Fuel Economy

The all-new 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback has begun arriving in dealerships, offering customers sporty styling, improved fuel economy, and advanced technology. Starting at $33,416 for the Sport trim, the refreshed Civic Hatchback introduces hybrid-electric power to the model line for the first time in Canada.

The hybrid-powered Civic Hatchback, priced at $37,205 for the Sport Hybrid trim, boasts an impressive 232 lb.-ft of torque, making it the most powerful non-Type R Civic ever produced. This electrified variant also achieves an exceptional fuel economy rating of 4.8 L/100km in city driving, showcasing Honda's commitment to efficiency without sacrificing performance.

Honda Canada expects hybrid models to constitute about 60% of Civic sales, aligning with the company's broader electrification strategy. The 2025 Civic Hatchback is available in three trim levels: Sport, Sport Hybrid, and Sport Touring Hybrid, with the top-tier Sport Touring Hybrid priced at $38,700.

Each trim level offers distinct features to cater to different customer preferences. The Sport Hybrid includes a moonroof, heated seats, and dual climate control as standard equipment. The Sport Touring Hybrid steps up the technology offerings with Google built-in, a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system, and a larger 9-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

The new Honda two-motor hybrid system not only delivers quicker acceleration but also contributes to better fuel economy. Hybrid models feature unique tuning for ride and handling, along with lower noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels due to additional noise reduction features. Linear Shift Control is available to enhance the driving experience by mimicking the feel of a conventional drivetrain.

Safety remains a top priority for Honda, with the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies standard across all Civic models. The 2025 model year brings improvements to these systems, including enhanced visibility for motorcycles and bicycles in the Collision Mitigation Braking System.

Aesthetically, the 2025 Civic Hatchback sports a more aggressive front styling inspired by the turbocharged Civic Type R. Hybrid variants receive distinct trims to set them apart visually. Two new exterior colours, Solar Silver Metallic and Urban Gray Pearl, offer additional personalization options for buyers.

The interior of the Civic has also been refreshed, with new colour options available on select trims. All models now come equipped with front USB-C ports, catering to the latest device charging needs.

As a historically significant model for Honda with a strong sales record in Canada, the Civic continues to evolve to meet changing consumer demands. The introduction of hybrid power to the hatchback lineup represents a significant step in Honda's electrification journey, potentially influencing future developments across the brand's vehicle range.
