New Generation 2023 Honda Accord: What’s New?
New Generation 2023 Honda Accord: What’s New?

There’s not a single doubt that the Honda Accord ranks among the best midsize sedans on the market. Known for its quality, it starts its 11th generation this year! Honda uses this opportunity to make some very efficient changes.

Learn more about its new design, its powertrains, and its new on-board technologies!

A Brand-New Wise Design

For this new model year, the 2023 Honda Accord received many esthetic changes. The Japanese manufacturer redraws the body lines for an overall sober and simplified look.

It gives birth to a new generation with a timeless appearance, bearing smooth body lines and a wiser design that should please everyone.

The grille is one of the components that has been reimagined, and it’s now equipped with a new obturation design that can help with the car’s aerodynamism. Standard on all Accord, we also find:

  • LED headlights
  • A shark fin antenna
  • Heated electric rear-view mirrors
  • A powered moonroof

It also wears 17-inch wheels on the EX trim and 19-inch wheels on the superior trims. Of course, the Sport trim shows off its uniqueness thanks to a glossy black finish.

Still based on the same chassis, Honda’s Accord has been given an additional 9 inches in length, offering more space inside than ever before. A 473-liter trunk is also available for all your needs.

Two Engines on the Menu

Under the Accord’s hood, two different powertrains are offered, one gasoline-powered and one hybrid. The first is a turbocharged engine, a 4-cylinder 1.5-liter that produces up to 192 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque.

Even if it’s a gasoline engine, it offers an excellent energy efficiency and has a combined fuel economy of 7.3 L/100 km. Of course, those that are looking to save even more at the gas station should turn towards the Honda Accord hybrid.

This last one consumes only 5.3 L/100 km on the average, powered by a 2-liter engine, combined with an electric powertrain. While driving the same distance, it saves about 0.2 L over last year’s model. Indeed, the powertrain has been redesigned, adding direct fuel injection.

If we talk about performance, this translates into a 204 hp power and a torque of 247 lb-ft.

Antoine Joubert, journalist for The Car Guide, underlines the excellent ride quality of the Honda Accord for sale:

“The ride is stable and super-smooth, while the rigid body inspires confidence in corners.”

You’re wondering which car to buy in 2023? The new Honda Accord offers both quality and driveability! We’ll cover this in a moment, but the interior is no slouch either.

A Focus on Comfort and Ergonomic Design

On the design side of things, the new Accord takes up multiple elements from the latest generation of Civic and CR-V. Ergonomics are at the heart of the manufacturing process, which ensures a pleasant driving experience for everyone.

Front passengers get standard heated seats with a seat trims choice between fabric, sports fabric, or leather. Indeed, the Touring trim offers a superior luxury level, thanks to:

  • Rear heated seats
  • Perforated leather seats
  • Ventilated front seats
  • And a whole lot more!

Furthermore, the cabin is very quiet thanks to an active sound cancellation system, standard on all Accord.

Even More Technologies

One of the most important changes inside the Accord is a new 12.3-inch central screen, available on the Sport and Touring trim. With the EX trim, you’ll get a 7-inch screen instead.

In addition to standard features, you can connect your Android Auto and Apple Carplay apps wirelessly to the superior trims, which also give you access to the Alexa assistant while on the road.

Among other things, the Touring trim adds:

  • A 12-speaker Bose premium sound system
  • Google integrated services
  • HD Radio
  • A USB port with data connectivity in the rear

Of course, Honda Sensing driver-assistance technologies will be waiting for you in your brand-new Accord, helping you drive as safely as possible.
