The 2022 Honda Civic has just been renewed and it has everything it needs to compete with the other compact sedans it its class, including the 2022 Mazda 3.
Refined engines
The 2022 Honda Civic is available with two engines that continue Honda's tradition of power and fuel economy. The Civic's standard 2.0L engine is more powerful than the Mazda 3's entry-level engine, and the available 1.5L turbocharged engine offers even more power to satisfy your performance cravings. Fuel economy is where the Civic takes an even bigger step forward, needing just 7.6 L/100 km in the city and 6.0 L/100 km on the highway with the 2.0L engine. The Mazda 3 averages 8.4 L/100 km in the city and 6.4 L/100 km on the highway with its entry-level engine. The comparison between the turbocharged engines tips the scales in favor of the Civic even more, as it consumes only 7.8 L/100 km in the city and 6.3 L/100 km on the highway, while the Mazda 3 requires 10.1 L/100 km in the city and 7.3 L/100 km on the highway.
Generous space
The 2022 Honda Civic is also more spacious than the 2022 Mazda 3, both for occupants and for luggage. In fact, the Civic has more headroom for front and rear passengers, more shoulder room in the front and rear and more legroom for rear seat occupants than the Mazda 3. What's more, this additional space doesn't come at the expense of the trunk, which can hold 419 liters while the Mazda 3's trunk only has 374 liters of capacity.
North American Car of the Year
The 2022 Honda Civic was awarded the title of North American Car of the Year by a committee of automotive journalists, who picked it over the Volkswagen GTI and the Lucid Air. This choice is due to the Civic's multiple qualities, such as its comfort, reliability, driving pleasure and low cost.
